Employment & Skills Training

At the Alberta Somali Community Centre in Edmonton, we are committed to helping community members gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the workforce. Our Employment & Skills Training Program provides practical training, career preparation, and ongoing support to open doors to meaningful employment.

Daycare/Early Childhood Education

We offer daycare and early childhood education training, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to work in childcare settings while supporting families in need of quality care.

Pre-Trades Program (Safety Tickets)

Our pre-trades program prepares participants for careers in construction and related industries. Training includes essential safety certifications such as:

  • H2S Alive
  • Fall Protection
  • Common Safety Orientation
  • First Aid

These tickets provide a strong foundation for entering the trades safely and confidently

Job Search, Resumes & Interview Prep

We provide hands-on support with job searching, resume writing, and interview preparation, ensuring participants are ready to present themselves effectively to employers and secure opportunities

Workplace Soft Skills & Expectations

Success in the workplace goes beyond technical skills. Our program emphasizes soft skills and workplace expectations, including communication, teamwork, and professionalism, helping participants adapt and thrive in diverse work environments.
