About Us

We’re a Community Oriented Organisation

Established in 2007, The Alberta Somali Community Centre (ASCC) is a grassroot organization that strongly focuses on celebrating community strengths and capacity building in collaboration with local community members, institutions and government.
To foster the well being of Somali and other African communities in Edmonton. Our goal is to help families and children obtain resources and knowledge in that which would assist them in improving the quality of their lives in order to integrate more easily into Canadian society.
Too provide tools of self-sufficiency for new Canadian communities that address and prevent specific problems faced by immigrant families that hinder positive integration. The organization’s main priority is to deliver services with integrity to children, youth and families and individuals living in vulnerable conditions by role modeling healthy trust-based relationships to prevent isolation that increase mental illness & family unit breakdown.
